Our client – a Life Science Company whose mission is bringing to market sustainable and renewably-sourced product – is looking for a transactional counsel with at least six years of experience either at a law firm or in house. The chosen candidate’s responsibilities will include small to large contracts and rolling up their sleeves to move deals foward while being an analytical thinker who is passionate for their own viewpoint and is in to solutions. Experience with drafting and negotiating a wide variety of complex agreements with both technical and commercial terms. Said attorney will be the point of contact for contractual issues supporting the commercial sales, business development, R&D, corporate development and administrative functions.
Privacy Attorney

Our client is searching for a junior or mid-level associate to join their growing data privacy group. This associate can work out of their California or East Coast (New York or Boston) offices. Our client works closely with leading venture-backed startup and emerging growth companies in a variety of fields, including technology, software, life sciences, media and consumer products, and the data privacy team counsels on data privacy and security matters in all aspects of their business.
Responsibilities include: counseling clients on a broad range of data privacy issues, including CCPA, GDPR, HIPAA and COPPA. Counseling clients through data privacy compliance, as aligned to risk profile, from early stage to pre-IPO. Providing data privacy/security deal support (including diligence and negotiation of privacy deal terms) in clients’ financings, mergers and acquisitions and IPOs. Draft and negotiate GDPR and CCPA data processing agreements and data privacy terms in commercial agreements.
Requirements: Class Year of 2015 – 2019 – flexibility for candidates with two or more years of experience in litigation, corporate or IP or tech transactions looking to transition to data privacy. Prior data privacy experience and/or CIPP certification strongly preferred. Previous large law firm experience preferred.

TRADEMARK ATTORNEY
Pennsylvania
Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking to hire a junior attorney to join its PA IP Property Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience handling domestic and international trademark portfolios, including trademark clearance, counseling, prosecution, maintenance and enforcement. Experience before the TTAB and/or some trademark litigation experience is preferred. Additional experience in any of the following areas is a plus: copyrights, social media, advertising, online business, licensing and privacy.
- At least 2 years of experience with trademark and copyright issues.
- Experience managing a trademark portfolio, consisting of domestic and foreign marks.
- Experience leading investigations and negotiations to resolve trademark disputes.
- A J.D. degree and membership in good standing in at least one state bar.
InHouse Senior Patent Attorney

Our client has a Sr. Patent Counsel position available in either Santa Clara, CA or Plano, Texas. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of in-house and/or private law firm experience with particular emphasis on patent portfolio development and management and outbound patent licensing. Responsibilities will include comprehensive intellectual property support to US-based research and development clients, including patent review board support, patent portfolio development and management, and claim charting of claims against relevant entities. Additionally, supervision and mentoring of junior patent engineering staff from foreign offices as to patent application drafting, prosecution and practice procedures before the US Patent & Trademark Office. As well as support of Chief Patent Counsel in general intellectual property activities.
Candidates must possess a strong technical background in Electrical Engineering, Physics and/or Computer Science; prior experience working within the telecommunications industry desirable.

You will have significant influence on the development and execution of patent strategy and will solve cutting edge intellectual property issues. Responsibilities include client counseling, third party IP investigations and actively working with outside counsel to manage filing, prosecuting and maintaining growing US and foreign patent portfolios. The ideal candidate will become embedded with the builders of the newest technologies, while helping shape the products and services as they come to market. The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. 1. Basic Qualifications

You will be working with scientists, attorneys, patent agents, and staff across a dynamic and diverse global organization pushing the boundaries of what is possible in a highly competitive industry. This position will be located in South San Francisco report to the Assistant General Counsel responsible for Informatics & Intellectual Property.
Requirement – Expertise in global patent portfolio preparation and prosecution for inventions involving bioinformatics analytical pipelines, software, computer systems, database architectures, mobile applications, data science, statistical analyses, machine learning, deep learning, and digital health innovations.
Experience in life sciences, including sequencing or other in-vitro diagnostic technologies, therapeutic molecules, and related technologies is a plus.
5+ years of experience in creating, prosecuting, and advising on complex global patent portfolios and IP strategy.
